As we close out 2024 and welcome in 2025, one tradition continues where the outgoing Department Chief (Chief Vincent Dies, pictured right) presents a new Chief’s badge to the incoming Department Chief (Vincent Incorvaia, pictured left).
Firstly, all of the members of the OVFD would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to outgoing Chief Dies who has helmed the department for six years. Chief Dies’s dedication to the department and residents safety was second to none, and his quirky sense of humor was a pleasant contrast to the seriousness of the role as Chief. Luckily, he’ll still be an active member of the Department, so keep those snappy comments coming.
Secondly, we would like to congratulate incoming Chief Incorvaia. Chief Incorvaia is no stranger to leadership, as he was the Assistant Chief of Company 2 for five years and has been actively involved in helping to shape the members of the OVFD.
Lastly, we want to thank all of the incoming officers for 2025. As we are an all volunteer department, each of these officers will be devoting extra time in their elected roles, spending added time away from their families. We want to wish you well in your roles and thank you for taking on the added responsibilities to help protect the residents and properties of Oakland.
